PPPOE & Dlink routers

Thu Dec 08, 2005 4:36 pm

Has any else experience problems with connections to the pppoe server from dlink routers. Ever since we upgraded from 2.8 to 2.9 we have to have our customers reboot there dlink routers(mainly the di-604 and 512 routers) to get connected. Once they reboot the router they are able to stay connected until we reboot the mikrotik router. All other routers work fine, just dlink routers are not. The routers are all updated with the newest firmware and all have the time server in them. If anyone has any clues to why this is happening or has fixed the problem, that would be great. Here is a some of the Mikrotik PPP log I am getting if it helps any.

This is a worrying thing! Do you know what firmware version the Dlinks have? I have had trouble with the older ones on 2.8 in the passed until I reflashed them.

Last time we rebooted we called all the customers that had the Problematic Dlink routers and updated them to the newest firmware. We also setup the time server after finding that is a potential solution on a Google search

The dl-512 to version 1.03 (newest) or firmware 2.04(newest) depending on the hardware version.

The dl-604 to version 3.51(newest)

Thanks

Hey joe, you might want to upgrade to 2.9.10 or limit access to your port 80. All the graphs are public. I am sure you dont exactly want that.

We had a bunch of problems with d-links all the time. They suck. We are moving to Netgear.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize the graphs were available to the public. We have started using USR routers and netgear routers.
