QoS and PPPoE profile (via PCQ) one machine...it's possible?

Wed Feb 23, 2011 4:18 pm

I configured a Mikrotik PPPoE Server managing user profiles via:

- PPPoE dinamic address-lists
- MANGLE packet mark
- Queue Tree and PCQ

This config work fine.

It's possible to add QoS (or traffic priorization/categorization for HTTP, P2P, DNS, ...) on the same machine?
Or I need to add a dedicatd QoS manager?

tnx ;)

I know. ;)
But I have some troubles: it's possible to manage global-upload and global-dowload separatly?
Using PPPoE I have one interface to Internet, and many interfaces to Clients, not one interface to clients.
In this case, prerouting rule intercept all traffic and i cannot sepate UP and DOWN.
I m wrong?

Can't say I've tried, but lab it out. Traffic still leaves through a physical interface.

If that physical interface doesn't allow you to do the second level of QoS outside of global-in and global-out you need to use two shapers in a row.

Yes, using PPPoE clients interfaces are dinamically created... so must use Global-in or Global-out. Second shaping is not possible (I m not wrong) on same machine.
Suggestion for second shaper? Transparent bridge shaper?

tnx ;)
