station-bridge question

Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:02 pm

Our network backbones are currently running in a Ap-bridge - station configuration.

would they benefit from me setting them to an AP-bridge - station-bridge configuration

Depending on the application of your networks, If its point to point connections then there is no difference, if you have point to multi point connections then its not advised in my opinion.

If it aint broken, dont fix it!

the 2 settings are similar you can read more about them in the manual section.

well we have some towers where it is a PtP connection but then we also have some towers that sat within a 3-4 degree separation and we gridded them into the same grid so in that case one AP two stations.

I will have a look at those manuals

as CyberT wrote it depends on your needs.
Station-bridge is useful if you want to make transparent network using Layer2 (bridge that station-bridge interface with the ethernet)
