I have limited experience dealing with VPN setups and this is my first attempt at creating a dial-in VPN. We have some Mikrotik and some Cisco Routers and switches in the field and a Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) in the office.

All of the VPN examples that I have found online have just shown how to setup Windows as a VPN client, not a server. And for whatever reasons all the Mikrotik examples have a non-routable 10.0.0.0/8 address as a WAN interface.

Our Mikrotik's have dynamic, routable, public IP addresses and need to dial into a public address here at the office. To further complicate things OpenVPN apparently has compatibility issues with Sever 2008 (x64). I ran the installer and don't see a TUN or TAP interface. The only Cisco-Mikrotik example lists private IP addresses and I don't know how to configure something like "ip unnumbered" on RouterOS.

Am I making something simple complicated? I just want a VPN connection that uses PUBLIC ip addresses and plays nicely with Microsoft, Cisco and Mikrotik!

Please help! Any advice appreciated!
