We have managed to do an unplanned link of 130KM
tx/rx singnal 83/83
Signal to noise 30dB
P Throughput - 15 000kbps

with r52hn radios and 26dbi medium grids

can easy do 8Mb over the link both ways.

took a while to fine tune, but without an major effort, just wanted to share this

what protocol you used - Nstreme or Nv2?

Nice work!

Instead of grids use a big satellite dish at around 1 meter with 5GHz feeders and you will get better results.

Here in Greece some friends did a 105km link with 80cm satellite dishes, handmaded 5GHz feeders and xr5 cards.

Result:
tx/rx signal around 60/60
SNR 35dB
P Throughput 50000 kbps
With A turbo and nstreme --> 40Mbps TCP

I used version V4.16 with nv2, but the problem is there is a client closer that also connects, and when I enable Nv2 cant ping any one of the 2, but they connect, so i put the protocol on nstreme and client side on any, and it worked 2ms pings.
framer policy set to best fit, polling enabled.

I will fine tune this link when I have a backup later on the far end, cause there is no telephone communication on that side.
The reason for this link is that the main link did not pick up, so my technician scanned, and picked up this ssid and it worked.
But i think we will upgrade the antennas in the future, as it is a very good backup link.

Now that we made i link like this I think our overall planning of highsites will change dramatically, and I also think Mikrotik is giving very good competition to other brands !

for Nv2 on such long distance specify Nv2-cell-radius to your current distance.

I see on the client side you can enter distance under advanced tab, would you suggest i enter each cleints distance seperately on them, and put the AP 130KM.

For Nv2 you need to specify the distance using Nv2-cell-radius setting.
the distance setting in the advanced tab is for the regular 802.11 protocol.
Please make the support output file from both when you use Nv2 network on that link, send it to support@mikrotik.com
