this should work. 750G can use all 5 ports in a switch. Make sure all IP addresess and rules, etc are all on ether1 (or master port)... pretend ether2-5 dont exist anymore once you slave them. dhcp client on ether1 on the second and third 750g so the router itself can get an address.

have 3 750gs at my house and I am trying to use them as switches, while still being able to login to them and manage the dhcp server.

here is what i have:

hivea 750g
ether1 - canopy
ether2 - ps3
ether3 - ap 433ah for neighbors
ether4 - hiveb 2nd 750g
ether5 - hivec 3rd 750g

hiveb
ether1 - hivea
ether2 - computer 1
ether3 - computer 2
ether4 - wireless router/ether cables using only LAN ports so it runs in switch mode, dchp disabled
ether5 - empty

hivec
ether1 - hivea
ether2 - computer 3
ether3 - printer

problem i am having is this. if i set everything to switch mode, i cannot login to each of the 750gs without resetting them by using metal to short out the reset pins..

It would be nice if I could assign an ip address to the interfaces and still access each switch and have all of the computers and printer on the same network.

as it sits now, i have /30's on many of the interfaces and handle alot of the traffic between 750gs using routes.

what would be nice is if I can have a few different subnets.

i can have a public on my ps3
private on the ap for neighbors
then the same private network for all my computers and printer. even though they are on different devices. any solutions?
