NV2 with 5Mhz channels?

Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:36 am

Just curious if anyone has had any luck running NV2 on a 5Mhz channel in 2.4? I have tried it and haven't had any luck with it at all. Poor CCQ disconnects and little to no throughput whereas a 10Mhz channel on the same frequency works well.

Please give us more detailed info. What wireless card you use, what distance you have, do yo use N or A/G standard? What Nv2 configuration you have on the wireless card?

V5.0 for 411A AP with XR2 "so I am running G" and 411 Clients, I have tested several client cards including, R52nm, R52hn, Alpha AWPC085H, DBii 20, XR2. Nothing special on the config, HW retry 7, no noise floor threshold, no ANI, default data rates. I have tried various NV2 settings nothing seems to help much. Distance varies from several hundred yards to 5 miles.

All show the same problem with 5Mhz channels, single digit CCQ, disconnects once you try to move data across the link and very little throughput if you can get any data to move. If you change back to 10Mhz channel without any other changes CCQ comes back and everything runs very well.

Thanks,

Using 5mhz channels with NV2 saved my bacon on one particular tower I've always had trouble with. There are over 100 2.4 clients connected to 4 different sectors....managing interference has always been an issue...until NV2 came out. We've been using it since beta...and it's never had a problem.

The board is an RB800 with 2 SR71-15's and 2 SR71-12's plugged into UBNT Airmax sectors.

Here is a screen shot of a test I ran this morning:

Hope that helps!
