Hi,
I have an issue with very poor reception in 2 of my links, in my Mikrotik Router ( P4 PC x86 ) i have 3x AR52N cards which work perfectly and another 2x AR52 which also work flawlessly. Now i bought some NEW AR52N cards to replace/upgrade the older AR52 so i can go N on all of my links.
When i swap the NEW AR52N cards in the place of the AR52 and migrate all the settings the signal drops 20-30dbm ( from the level achieved with the old AR52 cards ) and a link is not possible. Also i want to state that i plug the end on my pigtails on the NEW cards where it says J2 ( like i did with the already existing AR52N cards ) and of course there is an LMR400 cable with N-type plugs attached to the pigtails .
If i try to put the old cards back in the poor reception is gone and the links return to the previous working state. I didn't move the pigtails around, i never disconnected the LMR cable from the pigtail, i never messed with the alignment of the antennas and both ends of the links have Mikrotik installed, i just swapped the cards. On the HT tab chain 0 is checked. Also the cards don't seem to experience and IRQ/DMA conflict and are recognized normally by the operating system.
I have also informed the people where i bought the cards from and i am waiting for their reply. Any ideas are welcome, i want to make sure that i didn't get 2 faulty cards. It would be for me if your can think of a list of things that could have gone wrong cause i don't have the luxury of going to the pc to try just one thing out and then come back and post. When i can have some time off work i need to go on site where the pc is try like 10 different things out and then see what is going on.
Here is a video of my installation to help you understand better what i have done. ( i don't claim any prices for the video but is decent enough )
