BGP routing

Fri Aug 20, 2004 12:53 pm

What are the chances of being able to have multi instance BGP and more BGP features such as BGP address communities etc

I will also like to have more advanced features and support for BGP routing. Has anyone implemented BGP in their network with MT.

regards

BGP with MikroTik

Thu Aug 26, 2004 9:23 pm

I haven't good experiance with bgp. The CPU-Load was very high (100 % - with a Pentium 4 Celeron 2.2 Ghz) and the system was very unstable - mostly the box crash after 2 - 3 days.
But I think, Mikrotik work on a new version of BGP.

I played with BGP a bit, and didn't like the results when using MT... hence why my gateway routers are Ciscos. I still run across some bugs and lack of features using OSPF. Which would probably be significatly more usefull improve to people than BGP... Not sure how many people that use MT have multihomed networks  .

Thanks for the info... We have 2 level3 handoff's and would love to use BGP but now I will wait for more stable BGP support down the road.

Thanks,
Sam
