Limit bandwith on non-gateway router

Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:26 pm

Hello to everybody,

I would like to limit bandwith from a RB1100, but this is the scenario. The RB1100 can't be the default gateway (I have done the queues when the same Router was the default gateway). I have attached a picture of how I tried doing it.

The client with ip 192.168.10.11 with default gateway 192.168.10.1 passes through the RB1100 with a bridge configuration where all interfaces are configured as ports of the bridge. The RB1100 has the ip address 192.168.100.254 and also has the queues rules.

When I try the bandwith from the client to the RB1100, the RB1100 limits it correctly, but when I try the bandwith from client to Gateway, the RB1100 doesn't limit it.

How can I do this without doing nat on the RB1100 (It has to be on the same network) because the the Gateway MUST see the client requests from the actual client ip address instead of the RB1100 ip address.
