Ave signal strength reading?

Mon Jun 27, 2011 5:29 pm

I am trying to see what the ave signal strength reading for a radio is. I can watch the signal strength and tx siganl strength fields fluctate under the registration tab but was curious if there was any way I could take a 1hr ave, 1day ave etc.

Curious to see the swings on a rainy, humid, windy, still, cold day etc.

Any thoughts?

Hi

I had this problem when we have 4.x version but after on 5.x version we not have this situation, the only problem that I detect that some days on the midnight I can see on my cacti graphics report that I had bad signal and this signal value change after to 6am to next day.

Its very difficult to me explain to you this situation I think that maybe are atmospheric situations or others.

Other situation is when the IT will be install the CPE and he check the signal level reception with Mikrotik Wireless scan or snooper he see that the signal is not stable but when he add manual the SSID he can connect with the AP and after a few second he make again the scan or snooper and the signal is lower and stable..

hmmm,

I know the signal that is 'swinging' . I was just hoping for a way to graph it much like the mrtg graphs then I can look at the change over time. (Lower at night, or during a rainy day etc.) Then I can better predict some of my fade margin needs.

You suggested I upgrade to ROS 5 and the problem will go away. I think you misunderstood my goal.

Is there anyway to graph these data?
