Routing subnets to Provider Backbone Bridging Subinterfaces

Thu Jun 30, 2011 2:45 pm

Folks,

I have installed a Calix E7-2 GPON OLT inside our network that can do 1 C-Tag VLAN per customer (0x8100 Ethertype), bundled into an S-VLAN (Provider Backbone Bridging 0x88A8 Ethertype) that I am delivering to an ISP customer.

So should the S-VLAN be say VLAN 2000, then Vlan 1 in S-Vlan 2000 is Client 1 GigE Port 1, Vlan 2 in S-VLAN 2000 is Client 1 GigE Port 2, and Vlan 3 in S-Vlan 2000 is Client 2, GigE Port 1.

So the job of the Mikrotik router at my ISP customer, would be to receive the S-VLAN (0x88A8) Provider Backbone Bridging and to route different IPv4 subnets to each of the C-Tags (VLAN 1,2,3 in my Example) over the same physical trunk port (S-VLAN 2000).

Will this work ?

Config example pls.

F.

There is also this thread:

http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... nQ#p255567

It ends with a 'unsupported functionality' conclusion - email support@mikrotik.com ... Gee Whiz... this is a basic requirement nowadays.
