3G Modem Power Cutoff

Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:22 am

Hi all,
We work a lot with 3G Modems and rb411. Sometimes, the modem gets hung-up. A watchdog script will reboot the router but the modem is still Hung-up. The only way to overcome this is to cut the power to the router and then power it up again.
Is there a way to cut the power to the USB ports on the rb411? That way I can reset the modem and not the router and also, I will not need to get physically to the router.
Any idea?
Thanks

Some of the new Routerboard products will have a USB power reset option, but RB411 doesn't support it.

Thanks,
But what I meant was to reset the power to the minipci-e , minipci, usb ports by script. Not physically.
Is this possible?
