Connecting two MT using PPTP

Wed Jan 18, 2006 8:56 pm

I have been having a very difficult time connecting two mikrotik routers via pptp. One is running version 2.9.4 and the other is on 2.8.28. I have tried connecting by setting one side as the server, the other as client and then swapping. It will not connect either way. I am able to make a pptp connection from my pc to at least one of the routers and have no problems (winXP). When looking at the logs, I see the client go from intializing to dialing to terminating to disconnected. Happens over and over again but never makes a connection. I guess the first question is whether those two versions can connect. If they can, where do I look to find out why it's not connecting. I have my firewalls wide open during the testing to rule that out.

Oh...and I have followed the examples in both the 2.8 and 2.9 online manuals and it does not work.
