Ping from PC to EoIP Tunnel

Sun Aug 07, 2011 9:25 pm

Hi Guys,
I have routerboard working as firewall, EoIP tunnel, load balance and failover.

EoIP Tunnel IP block is 10.1.0.0/24
Ether1 IP Blok is 192.168.2.0/24
Client PC's block is 192.168.2.0/24

My problem is I can ping from Ether1 to EoIP tunnel with no problem.

But I cannot ping 10.0.0.7 from clients. How can I do this with firewall rules or something else? (I tried static route from ADSL Router but didnt work.)

Thank your...

What ping error messages are receiving? Please make network diagram, because currently it is hard to understand how devices and services are connected with each other.

Hi Guys,

EoIP Tunnel IP block is 10.1.0.0/24

My problem is I can ping from Ether1 to EoIP tunnel with no problem.

But I cannot ping 10.0.0.7
where is this 10.0.0.0/something network?
do both ends of EoIP tunnel know where all of the networks are?

answer these questions to yourself and adjust routing table accordingly, and it should be fine. Note that while on one router you have connected routes, on another you do not have those. So even if oyu can ping one end, it does not mean you can ping another end of the tunnnel

Sorry, I did mistake when I writting. Should be 10.1.0.7.

I draw network topology. I change IP block but it doesn't matter.

What I want to do is;
I like to ping from head office any of client pc to branch office any client pc's.
If I loose head office ADSL connection, jump to branch office ADSL or opposite.

What is the easiet way to this. I think it is not complicated but I am missing someting :(

Thank you

how change of tunnel type will change routing that is not configured?

on default gateway set up check gateway feature and add another default route through the wireless link (tunnel) with higher cost.
