Omnitik- reset to defaults

Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:22 pm

I'm having difficulty resetting an Omnitik to defaults. The instructions here:

http://routerboard.com/pricelist/downlo ... ile_id=302

indicate that you should hold the reset button down during boot until an LED flashes to reset configuration. I've done this with no luck. I've tried pressing the button before shutting down, before powering up, just after powering up, nothing. The LED never flashes or turns off. The device is running 5.6.

The guide also indicates that there's another reset button internally but I'm not seeing a way in the case, it appears that if I were to pull off two grey circles they may be covering screws and the board may slide out.

Suggestions?

how long did you hold reset button? To reset MikroTik RouterOS you need to hold 15s (just tried with two OmniTIK out o the box, reset worked fine for me).

I left it off overnight, plugged it in this morning and it was at its default config. Whatever I did yesterday to reset it but required some period of being powered off. At no point yesterday did I get the blinking LEDs indicating that it was resetting however. Perhaps these LEDs don't flash if they're disabled from the config (which I had done)?
