I am wondering why there seems to me little information in regards to the mesh functionality.

We have been building a network that runs down a main street and each radio can see two others making it ideal for a mesh solution however at present we have them running as AP Client as there seems to be little information.

I had tried setting up WDS Bridge and this works if the client radio is in station WDS but i cant seem to be able to get two AP Bridges connecting together so as to allow the next link in the chain to connect to the closes unit with the best signal.

I assume that Mesh takes over from Bridge and operates in a similar (smarter way).

Some suggestions as to where to look for some info would be appreciated and possible some examples if there are any out there.

Oh, in this site we are using about 10 omnitiks

In order to make WDS between two links running AP mode make sure you have the same ssid, frequency, band and wds modes and wds interfaces added (last option not needed if you use dynamic-mesh wds mode).

One other question however. By the looks of things these models use a device with two wireless cards in them. We are looking at using the Omnitik.

From what I see there we set all the units to AP Bridge mode with WDS Dynamic Mesh and included to the mesh device/interface ?

or the configuration of MESH

I have tried all these configurations and none seem to give clients an IP address.
I have a 493 with 7 751u's hard wired to it, no wireless card in 493, I put those 7 in a bridge and am running hotspot on the bridge interface.(I tried as switch also). there is 5 more 751u's running as wireless repeaters. 90% of the time no one can even get an IP and if they do the throughput is is at best a couple kb, we have 50mb connected to the rb493.
We are at a real loss here all are running 5.14, when we tried it as a mesh interface per the wiki even the hard wired ones could not see the rb493.
Any help here is appreciated,
