Help me for seting up Router RB433AH like a wireless Router

Wed Oct 19, 2011 7:23 pm

Hi everyone,

I have searched, read and tried many time with my Router RB433AH but I'm still not successful to setting it up.
Here is my plan:

My network is: Internet -> ISA (192.168.1.1) -> Switch -> DNS 1 (192.168.1.10), DNS 2 (192.168.1.6)
Switch -> LAN (192.168.1.x).
And all is working and can access with Internet.
Now I want to join Router RB433AH to my LAN and use it like wireless Router (and then hotspot for managing wireless users).
I have done :
1. I defined 192.168.1.100/24 for ether1 with the same LAN network.
2. added bridge1 and defined IP 192.168.10.1/24 for it.

3. IP address

3. Interfaces

4. Wireless configure

5.IP-dns

6.IP-routes

7.IP-DHCP Server

8.Tool-> ping

I tested with tool ping in Router and internet was working. My laptop saw wifi "Super wifi" and connected to it. But was not identified IP address. Please help me to configure it.

Hi,
First, if you use just one Wlan, you don't need to create a bridge. By the way, which interfaces did you add to the bridge ports? you must add ONLY add Wireless interfaces to the bridge and not the ether port which connected to your 192.168.1.x lan.

Second, you have to add some rules in firewall. your clients will get private IP address, so you should go to / IP firewall nat and add this:

in general tab: chain= srcnat src-address=192.168.100.0/24
in action tab: action=masquerade

if you do it, then I can help you to setup a Hotspot server in Mikrotik.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for supporting me.
My router is connecting with 3 antenna , so do we need to keep bridge for 3 wlan?
1. I kept only wireless interface to the bridge.

2. Added to firewall -> nat

So i can see the Wireless Signal from Laptop but I can not access it. I dont know where I did false.
Do you have free time ? Can I chat with you about this?

Sure but I'm in Iran and GMT offset is +3:30 , what is yours? I'm able to chat with Yahoo IM in 10:00 to 12:00 GMT.
Just post here and I'll read.

BTW, did you check your wireless registration tab? if any device connected to your RB, it will show there.
Another thing, how did your wireless client get IP? set manually or Automatically? if Automatically, did you configure the RB DHCP server?
