[RB 1100AH] Ethernet interfaces

Mon Dec 05, 2011 1:02 pm

Hi to all,
RB 1100AH have 13 ethernet interfaces. I see that are grouped in 2 group that are 2 separates switch.

What it means? If I would to use, for example, ether1 and ether2 without switching function as a single router interface is it possible to eliminate it from switch mode?

Why would there be more than one master port per switch group eludes me ...

Isin't the purpose of the master port for RouterOS to communicate with the switch group ?

Further, the docs says that once a port is set at master, nothing can be connected to it ... what ?

when you set master port for interface - RouterOS will not control it. Effectively traffic only from master interface to the router will be shown.
