How to Record and Graph users Bandwidth Usage per ip address

Sun Jan 08, 2012 1:37 pm

Hi

I've a small network of +- 10 pc's some cabled some wifi.

My equipment is a RB450GL and an RB433AH (for wifi) coneted to an ADSL modem.

Up until now I've always used iether IPCOP with Traffic Control and Report addon or Smoothwall with Bandview Add-on to monitor users bandwidth usage but in the interest of saving power and space would like to be able to do all this using RouterOS.

I also have a file server on my network so need to be able to separate users LAN traffic from WAN.

Ideally I'd to set up a system whereby my routers collect traffic (Traffic-Flow?) and forward it to a collector that can create nice looking and fairly easy to understand Graphs; In / Out / Total by Hour / Day / Week / Month.

Have tried the above with NTOP and while it did collect etc it was way more info that what I need at this point in time. (also not sure how accurate the usage was when compared against my ISP)

New to Mikrotik, prepared to dive in deep to get a working result here but scripting skills etc at the moment are non existent so looking for an simple yet elegant solution.

Any help very welcome.

Thanks

Hello,

You can record usage per IP with MikroTik Accounting... IP > Accounting
But if You want graphs, You should setup PPPoE or PPTP server, after that You can setup MikroTik graphs... Tools > Graphing
