i have two SXTs connected to a OmniTik. I setup static WDS and Routing between them and would like to know if i should optimize some of my wireless settings.
OmniTik:
Code: Select all
[admin@omnitik_holly] /interface wireless> print
Flags: X - disabled, R - running
0 R name="wlan_holly" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:C3:4B:ED arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros 11N mode=ap-bridge ssid="wlan_holly"
frequency=5200 band=5ghz-onlyn channel-width=20/40mhz-ht-above
scan-list=default wireless-protocol=nv2 wds-mode=static
wds-default-bridge=none wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=disabled
default-authentication=yes default-forwarding=yes default-ap-tx-limit=0
default-client-tx-limit=0 hide-ssid=no security-profile=doenet
compression=no
Code: Select all
[admin@sxt_bauer] /interface wireless> print
Flags: X - disabled, R - running
0 R name="wlan" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:CD:4F:E1 arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros 11N mode=station-wds ssid="wlan_holly"
frequency=5200 band=5ghz-onlyn channel-width=20/40mhz-ht-above
scan-list=default wireless-protocol=nv2-nstreme-802.11
wds-mode=disabled wds-default-bridge=none wds-ignore-ssid=no
bridge-mode=enabled default-authentication=yes default-forwarding=yes
default-ap-tx-limit=0 default-client-tx-limit=0 hide-ssid=no
security-profile=doenet compression=no
If i connect two Windows 7 workstations to both SXTs and copy a large file via SMBv2 i get the whole 100Mbit.
If i copy the same file from Windows XP (SMBv1) to Windows 7, i only get about 50-60Mbit
Is there anything to improve? What wireless Protocol/settings would you use for 0,5-2 km links with LOS?
Regards
Andy
