ROUTER HAS NO SOFTWARE KEY!

Hey guys, ineed help and fast.

I purchased my rb133 with routeros 2.9.38 a couple of months ago (about 8 months) and all as been fine and dandy. All of a sudden i try accessing it and it give me this:

ROUTER HAS NO SOFTWARE KEY
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Your router does not have any valid key.
Please, get valid key from http://www.mikrotik.com
and enter it at "System | License".

If you already have paid for this license, please,
press "Update Key" in "License Window"

Router will stop functioning after 5h and 40m if no valid key is entered.

Current installation "software ID": UZCE-FTT


Now this isnt the first board of its knid to give me this problem, i ignored the first one thinking it was just a glitch and would sort itself out, but now i cant get into that board or even reinstall the os via console with netinstall...that's another story.

So please i only have a few hours left and i want to get this thing sorted out before something bad happens.

Help anybody....!

Hi.

Well, ur probably spot on right. I traced the power issue to the inverter we're using at that site and noticed it has power drops and sometimes freezes the board.

I mentioned that i had a similar problem with the exact same type of board (rb133) and the exact same os (2.9.38) a couple of months ago - the inverter at that site also had issues at the time. I cant get into that board, not even via serial connection. When i try to enter the bios, it just ignores me and goes ahead loading nand and then tells me the demo license has expired. BTW it worked for months at first, it wasnt a demo. Any salvage procedures?

well, i would like to note, that if you have routerboards in your possession then you can simple create account on mikrotik.com and use that to manage your keys. you do not have to put money on account.

so, you can request keys in your account from routers you own, so in case you loose key (like original poster) you can get key in matter of seconds without any worries/contacting reseller/waiting for support to answer.

Yeah i have i think 11 of them and i've now created an account on the MT site and am sorting the keys out.

Any ideas about the rogue rb133 that suffered a hosed key?

I am having this problem as well and Mikrotik has sent me a new key, but no matter what I do I cannot get the key to stick. I have tried pasting the whole key in the license window in Winbox, in hyperterminal, and through a terminal window in Winbox. When I do it in Winbox it just says cannot change the key- invalid key. Can someone please help me with this? It has been driving me nuts for days and I have to keep reinstalling everything every 24 hours to keep the network up. Thank you so much in advance.
