Why Level4? Level3 would be enoughno, RB2011L-IN has desktop case. RB2011L-RM will have rack mount case, but it's not ready to order yet. Only desktop is. We will have 8 models, including bare, desktop and rack mount.
I don't understand, does the price of the unit somehow exclude it from having an MTU?Did you notice the price?
I was responding to person who compared it to RB450G.I don't understand, does the price of the unit somehow exclude it from having an MTU?Did you notice the price?
I'm just trying to figure out what the MTU is so I can decide whether to use them or not. The figure doesnt seem to be documented anywhere which is why I'm asking, no need to get passive aggressive about it.
Maybe turn off the browser/proxy cache, as the info is both at distributors, and also on routerboard.com for a while already!sigh.
Nothing from any distributors in SA, nothing on routerboard.com, where are we supposed to get information from???? Where are we suppose to purchase it from????
all RB2011 will have the same next-gen Atheros CPUHi,
Do you plan to release all RB2011 with same CPU/RAM configuration or there will be differences between models?
Just asking because RB2011L-IN is exactly what I'm looking for, but if you plan to release a more powerful version I would be happy to pay more for it
Max L2MTU on RB2011 series:
ether1-ether5: 4047; ether6-ether10: 2028
will be posted in a few dayswait a second, no RFC throughput test results ?!
RB2011L-RM is 1U and how much inches?no, RB2011L-IN has desktop case. RB2011L-RM will have rack mount case, but it's not ready to order yet. Only desktop is. We will have 8 models, including bare, desktop and rack mount.
You know a usb WiMAX dongle which works with MT?Can we have a normal USB port so we can plug in WiMAX USB dongles and 3g USB dongles? What about USB ADSL Modems ? Thanks.
I am waiting.will be posted in a few dayswait a second, no RFC throughput test results ?!
And NO voltage monitoringyes, all RB2011 will have at least 5 100MBps + 5 1Gbps interfaces. After that comes variations - +SFP slot, usb, wireless
That is GREAT news. Thank You.We will also have RB2011U series with full features (serial port, voltage monitor, etc)
For my environment, it is enough and very good cost effective design. No need 10xGiga interfaces if CPU doesn`t support 10Gbps L3 throughput.Current board design allows us only to use 5x Gigabit and 5x 100mbit.
Normis any answers to my questions?Looking at the PCB pictures, it seems like the FastEthernet ports are connected to a switch chip, and the GigabitEthernet ports directly to the CPU.
Could you please outline the topology a bit more?
Are those GigabitEthernet ports connected to dedicated CPU interfaces or an CPU internal switch?
How are the FastEthernet ports or the switch connected to the CPU?
How will the SFP be connected?
you assumption is wrong, SFP and Gigabit ports (total of 6 ports) are all connected through switch chip. 100Mbit ports are connected directly to CPU. This is because of CPU design.Normis any answers to my questions?Looking at the PCB pictures, it seems like the FastEthernet ports are connected to a switch chip, and the GigabitEthernet ports directly to the CPU.

When I say "real interface" I usually talk about a dedicated MAC+PHY combination or NIC. Not necessarily the logical representation inside ROS.All of them are real interfaces!
So the CPU itself has two real 1Gbit/s interfaces.CPU has 1GBit channel to the 100Mbit interfaces, and one 1Gbit channel to the switch chip.
WHEN, When, when ???That is GREAT news. Thank You.We will also have RB2011U series with full features (serial port, voltage monitor, etc)
When could we expect that model (RB2011U)??
My RB2011 tells that it has two switches: ar8327 and ar8227. Not sure how those are wired however. The 5 Gigabit Ports and the SFP ports are connected to an external switch chip, Atheros 83xx?
I am still hoping that there will someday be a picture in the Wiki.My RB2011 tells that it has two switches: ar8327 and ar8227. Not sure how those are wired however. The 5 Gigabit Ports and the SFP ports are connected to an external switch chip, Atheros 83xx?

I mean a block diagram, like we have for the RB450G switch "features" and topology.
Where did you see a block diagram for RB450G ?I mean a block diagram, like we have for the RB450G switch "features" and topology.
Sorry, I must have mixed that up somehow. I was thinking about those diagrams there: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Switch_Chip_FeaturesWhere did you see a block diagram for RB450G ?I mean a block diagram, like we have for the RB450G switch "features" and topology.
NORMIS, why You don't want to answer my question: WHEN?! When it will be available?!WHEN, When, when ???That is GREAT news. Thank You.We will also have RB2011U series with full features (serial port, voltage monitor, etc)
When could we expect that model (RB2011U)??
nope, 90% wrong1. In additional i find some info about RB2011US-2HnD-IN
http://www.cubemail.ru/wifi/oborudovani ... us-2hnd-in
is it true ?
yes, microUSB (like on many phones).2. Also as i see on http://www.technotrade.com.ua/Articles/ ... -04-02.php
if it photo correct - usb port is mini usb ?!
of course not1. if I am not using (plugging anything into/setting any rules for) 100 Mbit ports and SFP port, will they still waste any system resources in RB2011US model?
sorry but I don't have this information, please follow any updates on the forum and at your distributors2. can you estimate what "soon" for RB2011US-2HnD-IN model means? days? weeks? months?
I don't have this information3. can you estimate price cap for RB2011US-2HnD-IN model? <200 $? <300 $?
RB751G is a very good choice. Unless you really need SFP and the extra ports, get the RB751G now, and maybe upgrade to RB2011 when it comes out.I've nearly decided to buy 751G-2HnD
And for what purpose (what device to connect ), it can be used?yes, microUSB (like on many phones).
and you plan to use it only for this purpose?!There are some plans to connect the router directly to a PC as a portable router, and to use USB port for configuration (like a serial). Most people have this cable, because nearly all modern phones use it, so it's convenient to have this type of connector. New EU law also states that all phones must have this connector, so in the future we will see even more such cables.

The 5 Gigabit Ports and the SFP ports are connected to an external switch chip, Atheros 83xx?
And the 5 100Mbit/s Ports are connected to what, an internal switch chip? I can only see two bigger ICs at the PCB pictures, I assume the left one is a Switch chip and the right one the CPU/SoC?
Hm good news !!!yes, you will be able to use the USB port also for storage or 3G modems.
Yes, you will need converter. I already explained why microUSB will be used.Hm good news !!!yes, you will be able to use the USB port also for storage or 3G modems.
But in this case need a converter to a regular usb, that would not be very nice (the extra wires) ;(
why do not use standard usb, like in RB751G-2HnD
I keep holding out for the wireless version, now I guess I will have to wait longer for the LCD oneYes table is still true, no plans for model with wireless and no SFP
Wchich version will have voltage monitor?Yes table is still true, no plans for model with wireless and no SFP
All RB2011 models with U letter, not L letter. For example 2011US-2HnD will have voltage monitor.Wchich version will have voltage monitor?
not longer, because all wireless models will have LCDI keep holding out for the wireless version, now I guess I will have to wait longer for the LCD one
RB2011USSorry I meant 2011US-2HnD

Please ask your local distributors about any news.I´m Interested too, to get launch Date of Metal!
A few days ago, some news was sent to the distributors, so you might want to ask again todaynormis, they say they have no news and advise to ask your sales email.

Most of us are waiting for the more advance models.hmm? I have one installed.
And is it RB2011-RM? I need it for rack installation...hmm? I have one installed.
Two weeks away from Christmas 2022 ?!I'm sure it's only two weeks away...
Something like that...Two weeks away from Christmas 2022 ?!I'm sure it's only two weeks away...
That was good timing..Distributors have the information about them for a month already, why don't you ask there ?
