I have 2 questions for your licence

Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:04 pm

Hello all,

i am planning to buy one RB750G ,with 4.xx Firmware with Level 4 License.

1) do I have to buy additional license when I need user manager? if no, where can i download the 4.xx user manager?

2) can the firmware 4.xx be upgrade without buying new license?

Thanks

Kreye

"yes and yes"

I just re-read my post and I told you wrong. You DO NOT need another license to run user manager. You still get the packages from the download portion of mikrotiks site, the user manager package is in the zip. Sorry for not paying closer attention.

Do note user manager restrictions on concurrent users for the different RoS license levels.

L4 only supports 20 users I believe.

20 user manager sessions and 200 active hotspot users for LV4. The good thing is RouterOS licenses don't cost that much.

Thanks cbrown for the clarification - you are correct.

The other issue to consider before upgrading your license is NAND storage on the RB. Many need an additional microSD to successfully run UM, or Dude etc especially in a big site :-)

You can check under the System Resource command.

If you run out of NAND space upgrading RoS, logging, backup etc will be a problem
