RouterBoard 450G wont upgrade version to 5.14

Mon Apr 02, 2012 8:37 am

I have several RB450G routers. I was upgrading the software version to 5.14. They were 4.5. 6 of the 7 upgraded just fine. The last one down graded to v3.25 after rebooting. there is a system error in the log file. "license does not support new version of routeros-mipsbe-5.14". I was using WinBox to upload the files and to do a system reboot.

Any ideas?

Solved my own problem. I had too old of firmware version. to fix, I first went to /system routerboard print. I saw there was a newer version of "upgrade-firmware". then I did a /system routerboard upgrade (answer yes) the /system reboot. After the router came back up I upgraded to version 4.17 and went through the same firmware steps. Then it let me upgrade to 5.14. Then one more time to upgrade to latest firmware.

Now everything is happy and I am current on all units.

Thanks Butch Evans consulting web page.

Hi, I have an old RB333 with license 4 (RouterOS 3.30).
I did
/system routerboard upgrade
then reboot, but still I can't upgrade to RouterOS 4.0 (license does not support new version of routeros-powerpc-4.0).

It's me to make something wrong, or is it the limit of license level?
Thanks.
