Senao NMP-8602 Plus 400mw a/b/g Support

Sat Mar 04, 2006 2:02 am

The card is recognized as an Atheros AR5413 card and it works, mostly. One of the things that doesn't appear to be correct though is the power versus speed table. I'm assuming the driver is simply defaulting to some safe table because it hasn't been taught about this card yet.

Any idea when official support might be available?

We tested and are using this card, and leaving the power setting at default gives the advertised maximum power rates... 26 dB in 802.11b and what the chart shows in a/g modes.

This same card is giving us problems supporting a large number (50+) of 802.11b clients. No clients can register with the AP. We're trying to figure out of it is a problem with this card in particular, with all Atheros 5413 chipset cards, or with Mikrotik.

I've noticed that problem on 11b also, only one client could connect at a -95db, which appears to be the same default value for 2.9.14 that the old -100db used to be. That's what you see for a strength before packets flow and you get a real reading.

I've had better luck on 11a with them, at least at the distances I've tested at so far, within the same building.
