Retain Graphs under Tools/Graphing

Wed Mar 08, 2006 4:33 am

Hi all

Is there any way to RETAIN the graphs created under Tool/Graphing?? I mean if User-A has logged in by PPPoE from 2 PM to 3PM a graph is auto generated. But when the same UserA logs in again at say 7PM the graph that is created overwrites the old graph. It would be great if the graph were a continuous timeline one whereby the usage between 3PM to 7PM was shown as a flat X-Axis line. :D

Possible?

I've been through the same issue. You can add the PPPoE interfaces for each user and make them static. This way they will always be there even when user disconnects and their graphs will remain with that flat line when they're disconnected, etc.

To do it: in winbox go to PPP, click the + red button, add PPPoE Server, enter username for one of the users, enter service name of your PPPoE Server that is running, repeat for other users.

I would like too to have graphs "stay available" after user disconnects, but it will be a real pain to manually enter over 1500 users, especially when they are entered via php frontend by "dealers" who hardly know the difference between mouse and floppy drive :)
I hoped that selecting "Store on Disk" in "Queue Rules <all>" will force this graphs to stay forever, but they are not. As soon as user disconnects, his graph is gone :(
For this reason we have to draw RRD graphs for each user, and still have some strange issues with this (bad drawings, 10Mbit peeks, and so on...)

Ditto here!! No way am I gonna enter all those users manually!!

And what happens when we delete an PPPoE interface manually to force a disconnection? Does this static entry get deleted? How does authentication happen?

So many questions ....
