is asymmetric routing with OSPF bad?

Tue Apr 24, 2012 6:30 am

I'm running a ubnt/mikrotik network with OSPF and MPLS. many of my routes i have set up asymmetrically.
so upload goes one way, download comes from another path.

i've heard this may lead to problems with MPLS and asymmetric routes.
i've also noticed The Dude can't get monitoring statistics from some of the routers.

any input is appreciated,
Thanks

I have a few of my routes set up that way. I have a tower where i use 2.4ghz to receive and 5.8ghz to transmit. Helps a lot with the latency. So far no problems. Yes dude gets a little confused but so far it's all good. I don't see it as a big problem as long as you keep track of everything.
