Feature Suggestion: VoIP ID

Wed Mar 01, 2006 3:13 am

Through this and other MT disscusion groups I often see posts asking how to prioritise VoIP traffic. The question then soon becomes how to identify VoIP traffic so that it can be prioritised.

Could MT identify VoIP traffic by packet inspection in the same way that it currently does for P2P traffic?

Dont forget about IAX

If you were using IAX2, then all you do is make a normal queue for UDP/4569 and it will give you what you want. Or what ever port you run your IAX on :-) There is only one port for IAX2 traffic.

Yes, but most customers are using SIP, not IAX. We need a method to handle SIP.
