the Issue with Routeros + the dude NPK package
that will not allow http access ( port 81 ) known issue <--

This is preventing me purchasing a license to install on my high powered Atom x86 machine!
I know I know use Windows, but seriously i didn't purchase this 5 gigabit lan atom x86 machine for nothing!
I want this box to be my router, honestly I want to bench test this over time as a potential PE someday
and at the same time provide a potential Access for our field engineers to view "the dude" for random small task's
and not have to use the Netvis, if possible ( some times you just want to monitor a CE/customer for a short time
I work for a ISP on the core network PE to CE.

I am trying to work out right now if i just just build sole machine ( i don't need a dedicated machine yet)
running windows/linux i don't care<- either, just for DUDE!!!

OR just run routeros and hope to GOD they actually fix the web access part ( lets just assume I really do want to see the web interface ok )
Now im thinking about Running Vmware on linux and having Dude on linux and Virtual Routers

But I dont know how the licensing works if i virtual my routeros, can i later migrate that SAME <-- license to
a standalone box with out visualization? the chances are extremely high it will be the same box.
can someone tell me what would be my scenario there about the visualization and licensing?


I understand that its a great performance loss partially to virtualise routeros, Ive read good and bad results
ill take that on board and assume that its a semi small impact in performance.... I'm happy to further hear some more feedback about that part " just cause's me pain to feel I'm choking my routeros"

Yes, this is a known bug, Dude webserver doesn't work if Dude is run on RouterOS. We will fix it in the next release, but it will take a couple of months from now.

No, we have identified the problem, all it takes is to fix it. This is not the only known issue, so there are a few more to fix until we can release.

in relation to my other question
if i install routeros on a x86 vmware
can i then wipe the drive and reinstall it to the hhd if i purchase a licence?
i want to test it multiple ways

you can test with free demo key, purchase only when system is final. license can't be moved

Saying that i can with out a doubt install+licence then format and then install+existing licence yes, i am pretty sure i have checked before but i want to be sure.

When problem will be fixed?
