ITElite?

Thu Mar 08, 2012 1:52 am

Anyone use any of their products?

I've been using Rootenna and UBNT AirGrids, looking for a dual polarity 2.4GHz MT option.

I haven't. But I have been wondering myself about them.

I've tried a Jirous dual pol 14dBi that was quite impressive.

They don't offer sectors with enclosures. Looking for any info, experience, good or bad, about ItElite.

I'm currently running four ITElite PRO-SECTOR24015V_BOX units and I'm quite pleased with their performance. They have been operating since November. It is not rainy out here and has only drizzled twice since they were installed, so I can't speak to their waterproofing, but I can verify that high temperatures don't faze them. I also picked up one of their MRA24014s to try out as a CPE -- it's been installed only about three months right now, but it hasn't given me any problems (plus I finally realized how much more powerful and configurable a Routerboard-based CPE is than a commercial CPE, at only a tiny price premium).

I also took advantage of an unusually inexpensive deal on Jirous JA-214 units for use as CPEs, and was impressed at their construction, especially the screwless cover and the mount that you can position several ways on the case. However, the board mounts sideways, making the cable routing tougher and more stressful on the socket (especially with gel-filled burial cable), plus you have to hand-modify the case to pass a ground. The ITElite has a screw-in case and a mount with no tilt capabilities, but it puts the board jack in an accessible position, has a pass-through ground built in, and you can buy two of them for the price of one Jirous.

I ordered several more MRA24014s just a few days ago; they haven't come in yet. One of the reasons I ordered them was to publish a comparative review of the two boxes.

None of the units above are MIMO, I use only vertical polarity in 2.4GHz.

Can't tell anything about mimo, but we have lots of single-pol 5ghz itellite panel antennas with or without enclosures running flawlessly for years. They are very good in almost any aspect.
Unfortunatelly I don't think you can make conclusions from my given experience with single-pols, as for mimo more factors apply, like cross-polarization, etc.

I'd also like to hear some opinions, as they are easily available here and with a good price and I might need higher gain mimo antennas for more distant clients..

I will offer one more data point, which is that ITElite's customer service was excellent when we had a shipment arrive with a missing part (parts bag damaged by delivery service).

I was in contact with Remik in ITElite costumer service, and he did offer a superb and fast support. I about to buy a PROSector dual pol antenna from them, and the price was very good :)

I have finally published this review. Comments welcome.

We are using them constanly. They are a little bit more expensive, but they have great performance and build quality.
