Can't get Internet Explorer to authenticate through hotspot

Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:28 am

I have created a hotspot (RB750) and want the LAN and WLAN to both require authentication through an external AAA server.

The AAA server i use is similar to Hotspot Systems and i (loosely) used the guide at
http://www.hotspotsystem.com/en/hotspot ... rotik.html for ideas.

Turns out that if i do a system reset on the RB750, clear config, then add the hotspot info, radius info then add the (customized) login.html
Authentication works perfectly on Mozilla or Safari and the logs show the http-pap attempt, then the connection (as it should) ........ but ........... authentication attempts fail through Internet explorer and it does not even show up on the Mikrotik logs. .

What does IE do differently, that it would not allow the authentication to work and how can i get it to work?

HELP PLEASE ....... :?

Yes, Javascript is enabled.

When I look at the Mikrotik logs, there is not even an attempt to authenticate when using internet explorer.

It just appears to "time out" and then go back to the login screen

Any other ideas?
