OpenVPN server and Windows 7 client

Mon May 30, 2011 8:47 am

Hi all,

I have configured OpenVPN server on a RB750 as per the following guide:
http://daffy.za.net/2010/02/openvpn-min ... pn-server/

i am unable to get it to connect from any Windows client software. I have created the certificate through cacert.org.

the client asks for a username and password, it then asks to allow the certificate then comes up with 'not an access server'

there is no traffic showing on the interfaces when this is tried.

any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards, Tom

OpenVPN company has commercial product called Access Server. Maybe you try to use client specific to that product (I guess the error "not an access server" is refering to that) with MikroTik? I don't remember where, but I think I read that they are not compatible. Even though original poster wrote about any Windows client software, it's not possible to tell what exactly he tried.

So simple question, do you use client from here: http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html ? If not, then try it.
