help needed, speciel setup

Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:34 pm

hey all, im having a little trouble blocking some dhcp, and i wondered if theres someone who could help me out there.

heres my setup:

Routerboard 450g.

Port 1 : Internet WAN
Port 2: IPTV Wan
Port 3: IPTV STB
Port 4: IPTV STB
Port 5: LAN

Port 3+4 has port 2 as primary. port 5 has a dhcp server + ip adress. port 1 is a dhcp client.

what i want is that all 233.*.*.* traffic from port 5 goes to port 2, everything else goes to port1. if i bridge port 2+5, and i set an static ip on the LAN everything works perfectly, except for theres no dhcp. if i set the clients as dhcp, they will get an i from the Port 2 and not from the internal dhcp server on port 5.

so my question is: how do i block the dhcp from port 2, to port 5? IPTV dhcp should still be intact on port 3+4, so its only towards port 5 i need it blocked, so the internal dhcp on port 5 gets active...

When you bridge - put in filters for dhcp in the bridge (forward).

Put your own DHCP server on the bridge interface itself.

Put more filters (output) not to allow your own DHCP onto someone else's network (where that other DHCP that you are alredy blocking is).

Simple.

I'm trying to understand what you want. You said this:
Port 1 : Internet WAN
Port 2: IPTV Wan
Port 3: IPTV STB
Port 4: IPTV STB
Port 5: LAN
But then you say this:
traffic from port 5 goes to port 2
My understanding is that traffic from port 5 should go out on port 1 and traffic on port 3 and 4 should go out on port 2. Am I wrong here? According to what you said first you have 2 connection coming into the router, Internet on port 1 and IPTV on port 2. So LAN traffic should go out on port 1 and the rest on port 2?
