RADIUS framed-pool not supported

Mon Sep 13, 2004 4:29 pm

hello,
we found that the RADIUS attribute
ATTRIBUTE Framed-Pool 88 string
is mentioned in the reference dictionary but ignored by the Mikrotik Router OS (2.8.13) http://www.mikrotik.com/Documentation/m ... dictionary.
the pool name is send from RADIUS to the NAS but no ip from the pool is given to the client. we checked pool-name on both side to be syntactically correct.

as this is a very important feature i really liked to hear from someone if its working and if yes, how.

(before i write to mt support)

it's working for me. Nothing realy special configured - just added the necessary ip pool in the router (NAS) and specified that name in the freeradius config.

could you please give me the line from the freeradius users-file?

did you change anything in the dictionary-files?

i am using database and there it looks like this:
edgars Framed-Pool = tests

On the MT as follows:

[admin@MikroTik] ip pool> p det
0 name="tests" ranges=2.2.2.3-2.2.2.9

What is written in the MT logs? What's in freeradius logs?

thanks.

we are using steel belted radius, yet.

nothing in the mt log. RADIUS log says: sending attribute "FRAMED-POOL", type string, value "TEST" to NAS.

but the ppp-client does not get an ip-address at all.

I am using MT 2.8.13 and the FRAMED-POOL attribute and it works fine. I am actually using Microsoft IAS/.
