[SOLVED] RB2011uas-2hnd reset issue

Fri Nov 09, 2012 9:37 pm

Hi guys.
Having some issue with a new rb2011uas-2hnd I have.
Applied filters & since then I can get a login prompt but it gives me a "wrong username and password" - strange.

Anyway trying to reset the unit. following
http://routerboard.com/pdf/423/rb2011U-qg.pdf instructions.

Its either doing one of two things loading with the config and still cant login or two it goes to ether boot and I cant see if in anyway to either boot using netinstall or anything else. Anyone have a suggestion or help?

what filters did you apply? maybe somebody else had access, and changed your username/pass?

Hey Normis,
thanks for the reply. Filters are below and nope no one had access to the unit as it hadn't gone live yet.
0   ;;; Allow Related
     chain=input action=accept connection-state=related

 1   ;;; Allow Est
     chain=input action=accept connection-state=established

 2 ;;; Allow SSH access office
     chain=input action=accept protocol=tcp dst-port=22

 3   ;;; Allow Local Access
     chain=input action=accept src-address=172.29.1.0/24

 4 ;;; Create Port Scan List
     chain=input action=add-src-to-address-list protocol=tcp psd=21,3s,3,1 address-list=port scanners address-list-timeout=4w4d

 5   ;;; Drop Port Scan
     chain=input action=drop src-address-list=port scanners

 6 ;;; Log All then Drop
     chain=input action=log log-prefix=""

 7   chain=input action=drop

Got this issue sorted eventually.
Seemed to be an issue with Windows 7 and my USB - Serial adapter. Although the adapter was working ok with Windows 7 on Juniper/CISCO gear.

Anyway happy days unit reset and now working.

I have the same problem.

For the RB2011UAS-‐2HnD-‐IN

Reset from the instructions --reset as in reset RouterOS configuration-- does not work!

It goes to ether boot or loads some other configuration.

Suggestions?

Hi.
I have the same problem with the RB2011UAS-‐2HnD-‐IN
device is not reset by instruction, only that I have - "ether boot" at boot.

Maybe this factory problem with this model?
