[SOLVED] Help, cannot login to user manager web interface

Mon Dec 17, 2012 1:32 am

I am a new Mikrotik user and I am trying to set up user manager for the first time on a RouterBoard751G with level 4 licence.

I have installed the user manager and I can connect to it on <my router ip>/usermgr, but I cannot login using default user "admin" with empty password. I always get a message that says "invalid username or password".

I have tried editing customers and users, and after a lot of tests I have been able to login to user manager web interface as a "user" but never as a "customer". For example, with this setup:
admin@MikroTik] /tool user-manager> customer print
Flags: X - disabled
 0 login="admin" password="admin" backup-allowed=yes time-zone=-00:00 permissions=owner signup-allowed=no paypal-allowed=no paypal-secure-response=no paypal-accept-pending=no

 1 login="aa" password="aa" backup-allowed=yes time-zone=-00:00 permissions=owner signup-allowed=yes paypal-allowed=no paypal-secure-response=no paypal-accept-pending=no

[admin@MikroTik] /tool user-manager> user print
Flags: X - disabled, A - active, I - incomplete
 0 customer=admin name="bb" password="bb" shared-users=1 wireless-psk="" wireless-enc-key="" wireless-enc-algo=none last-seen=never
I can login as the "user" (username "bb") but I cannot login as any of the two "customers" ("admin" or "aa").

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to enter something special in the web interface "login" field? Something to tell that I am trying to login as a customer and not as a user?

I have googled for 4 hours, I have tried firmware 5.22 and also firmware 6.0 rc5, but I have been unable to login as a customer.

Thanks for your help!

Sure you helped me! I wonder WHY I can access an URL that only seems to work, but it does not.
