antenna tower

Sat Dec 29, 2012 8:50 am

Hello,

I was used to build my 3x3Km net with SXT pack, Omnitik and few SXT.
I need now a stronger AP, much stronger than an AP, but in budget.
Also I do not need anymore an omnidirectional, but a sectorial antenna.
Anything stronger than "groove?"
Plz advice me.

best

Would you like to be useful? Read all before you post something.

Metal Groove is more powerfull but you didn't say if you need dual chain or not. Sxt and omnitik are dual so I belive you still need dual. For that you need an ubnt 20dbi sector antenna and a RB711A 5HND. But you will not be in the budget I belive.

I read his post, but there is no wirelles device stronger then grove (metal)

If you need single chain, you can use METAL GROOVE with sector antena

I am not sure what is the difference between single and double chain?

If your AP is omnitik and you have used both CHAIN - it means you use two polarization (Vertikal and Horizontal)
Then you need dual chain SECTOR antena with dual chain routerboard (rb7115HnD)

If you use only one polarization then you need single chain sector antena (in my previous photo) and single chain routerboard (groove or 711)

Dual chain = improved throughput performance, more interference prone than single chain, two connectors on board (MMCX/UFL), two antenna connectors (N/SMA), referred to as multiple input multiple output (MIMO)
Single chain = less throughput, less interference prone than dual chain, one connector on board (MMCX/UFL), one antenna connector (N/SMA), referred to as single input single output (SISO)

In RouterOS each dual chain radio transmitter can be used in single chain mode.

Another feature added to 802.11N is MIMO technology. By using two antennas in different polarity or by using one dual polarity antenna in one side our MIMO radio can double the aggregate speed and we can reach 300 Mbps in Theory - from Deltaelectronics presentation, link enclosed below.
