I'm looking for a good solution for point to point link. I have considered SEXTANT G-5HnD, but apart from interesting forst part of the name, the antenna appears to be too weak for my application. I'm looking for same antenna dual polarity with the gain of 20-22dBi, I plan to use RB711G-5HnD, I think the hardware is the same as in SEXTANT, Gbit port etc. There is few interesting solutions in Made for MikroTik section, but can anyone recommend something ?

I considered Jirous antenna that you have proposed, but I was looking for something cheaper. After searching at made for mt I placed an order in iWave for -> http://www.wireless-instruments.com/en/ ... -20hv.html . The WiBOX series seems to be a good solution and it's advertised as a module antenna where I can change antennas inside the box if needed. Looks good, I will see if it's as good as it's on the pictures and specification... I will share my feeling then.

The antennas have arrived few minutes ago. Looks impressive (really high-quality), a lot of installation space, huge and solid holder (with the scale, made from fiber glass as the manufacturer informs). I told my staff to install RB711G inside and install antennas on the masts. I will share the test results when done.

Even though it's more expensive, some people prefer to use the parabolic dish because the beam-width is much narrower - 9 deg. on both the horizontal and vertical planes vs 10-11 deg (horz.) and 18-20 deg (vert.) of a panel.

The beam-width difference between panel and parabolic antennas is generally true regardless of manufacturer.

The narrower beam-width means less interference caused to and received from your neighbors.

We have just tested 2 types of their panels, and we are very satisfied, one is:

In the past we have used panels from another manufacturer and I have to say that there are very big differences between antennas on the market, now our links work much better, I will stay with Wireless Instruments product.

Regarding parabolic antennas they are ok for point-to-point links, we have few 29 dBi mimo from Jirous and we are satisfied. In general they are perfect with dish antennas, but in pannel antennas matter I chose WiBOXes.

What antennas do you use as base stations ?
