3 SR2s in a P2 400 box???

Tue May 02, 2006 1:51 am

I have a pentium II 400 mhz computer and I am trying to put 3 SR2s in it. One for each 120 degree sector. I built up this box and put it into place last night and everything came up and seemed to be working fine last night. This morning when I came in we went from 18 clients connnected to sector 2 down to only 1 or 2. We have each SR2 on its own RB11 into a PCI slot.

Can anyone think of any reason why only one sector would drop off like that.
As soon as we put the Smartbridge APPO back in place all 18 clients register back up so I know it isn't a cable or Sector issue. I have tried different SR2 cards and new pigtails for them.

Any Idea on what would be causing this would help.

Thanks

You need to set your tx powers manually per this post.

I had this same problem, until I adjusted the TX powers of my SR2 - since then it is working great.

You may (probably will) see lower signal numbers, but that is normal. The problem is that by default, the SR2 is overdriven. You'll see higher numbers for signal, but distortion will be high and the card will overheat with time.

The proper solution is in the thread above, reproduced here:
/interface wireless set wlan1 tx-power-mode=manual-table
/interface wireless manual-tx-power-table set wlan1 manual-tx-powers=1Mbps:26,2Mbps:26,5.5Mbps:26,11Mbps:26,6Mbps:21,9Mbps:21,12Mbps:21,18Mbps:21,24Mbps:21,36Mbps:17,48Mbps:15,54Mbps:15
