RB1100 Ether ports flapping

Thu Mar 21, 2013 6:03 pm

Hello

We are using several RB1100 (v5.24) and ethernet ports are flapping from 100 M to 10 M . Very rare to get 1 G

We changed connectors and cable (now we have Ubiquiti special cable and connectors)

At the radio RBs we have RB435 (giving a lot of problems) and changing to RB 433GL. We use a separate cable from ether2 (at teh RB435/433) to connect to the RB1100. Nothing has solved.

Cable length ranging from 10 to 30 m

Any others having these problems?

Probably this answer is a bit late but this issue can be caused by the faulty Atheros 8316 switch IC which causes router freezes on RB450G/493G boards? This IC dies under heavy load and only resetting the chip or the board itself solves the problem.

This issue is fixed in RouterOS v6.0, so I recommend to start by upgrading RB435G to v6.0 and see which of the problems stay and which do not.
