traffic shaping

hi,
i have limited bandwidth and i wann to use the bandwith effeciently .for the i wann the user who are just browsing they will get the prority after that voip and than youtube than other traffice and in the last i wann the p2p and torrents. and body have the idea to manage this . i great trouble now.
If some one habe the idea to manage this .

Queues are for traffic shaping. Getting them right for your needs are a bit different matter.

You want to use the firewall to tag traffic types (mangle rules) and then create a queue tree in order to prioritize by class.

This is a heady subject, you will want to read the wiki and then google some examples;

That will get you started.

if you want a ready made solution, you could always look up the butch evans shaping script. He has a top notch set of mangle rules that will get you started as well as a queue tree. He charges a fee for his goodies tho.
