get netinstall, enable net boot, set IP to same subnet as your PC, hold reset button until user light stops flashing, it will kick in etherboot, and you will be able to flash it with fresh ROS.
Thanks dravnieks.
This is Ultimately what I had to do.
I followed these instructions here as they were very clear, easy to follow, and easy to understand; something I have found difficult to find with regards to MikroTik documentation as a whole. Hopefully it helps someone else too.

The only thing that I had to change was that I could
NOT check the "Keep Old Configuration" Checked.
The install would hang flat out, and NOTHING would start at all, as I think it was wiped completely out.
I unchecked the "Keep Old Configuration" and set the:
IP address: to 192.168.1.1/24
Gatway: 192.168.1.1
Baud Rate: I set to max - but I don't have a serial connection anyway, so it doesn't matter I guess.
... and the install went off with out a hitch in less than a minute.
Again, only difference that I faced was,
I think, ( . . . and I am only guessing here and maybe someone can clarify for those who may run into the same problem) by selecting the
"No Default Configuration" option while resetting the routers configuration that it blanked the IP for Ether1's port. I would have thought that logging in using a MAC address would not have mattered, but if you have to set your computer to be on the same subnet as the router and the router doesn't have one set for Ether1 . . . well then you are screwed like I was.
Can anyone who has more experience with the configuration reset settings confirm this?
It would be nice to know.
Is the ethernet adapter on your computer set to DHCP?

Thanks for the reply donjames. I appreciate the help. Setting to DHCP or attempting to set the IP to the same subnet didn't seem to make a difference.
