bandwidth speed difference

Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:59 am

Hi

I have a very strange scenario,

A - Routerbourd connected to tower with pppoe connection

B - RB433AH - At my office

C - RB2011L - At my office, using it to load-balance 5 lines.

B - IP Address = 172.30.1.2 witch defaults to 172.30.1.1
C - IP Address = 172.30.1.1

B & C connects to the same switch.

Ok, this is what i don't get.....

When I do a Bandwidth test from A to B I get 25mbps-35mbps

When I do a Bandwidth test from A to C I get only 7mbps-10mpbs

BUT....When I do a Bandwidth test between B & C I get 60mbps-90mbps

Why don't I get the same speed from A to C. :(

Please HELP!!! :)

Need more info about the physical connections between the devices.

I assume the first link is wireless? What type, band, channel, etc?

What is your signal strength, ccq?

Hi

Ok this is the setup.

The first connection is a 2.4GHz-N signal -52/-56 CCQ=85/90% on a Groove connected to my tower witch is a R52Hn 2.4GHz-N Freq=2457 on a RB433AH, the second connection is a 5GHz-N from the tower to my office with a signal of -50/-49 CCQ=100/100 on a RB433HA (172.30.1.2), this is connected on ethr01 to a switch, on the same switch I have a RB2011L (172.30.1.1) witch I use for my Bonding solution.

This is my test

From my first connection I run a bandwidth test to 172.30.1.2, results = 25-35mbps
From the same connection to 172.30.1.1 I get 7-10mbps.

Why????

But from the tower to 172.30.1.1 I get the results = 25-35mbps

Please help :D

Hmmm.........propably you encode ON the tower and between these two Radios, interfearences OR you have not "centered/aligned" well your antennas on the 2.4GHz side.
Try to move your antennas aprox 2m and longer each other or align better the 2.4GHz link.
IF there are other antennas on this tower too, then you have to find a solution about moving yours away.
Try to have CCQ ALWAYS ~100% between all of them when pushing/pulling data through them.
ONLY then you will be OK as for the bandwidth.

This is not the situation at all :)

When I do a test from the first connection to 172.30.1.2 it's perfect, the problem is the test to 172.30.1.1, this RB is on the same switch as 172.30.1.1 and when I do a test between 172.30.1.2 and 172.30.1.1 I get 98Mbps which is correct because is's a 100Mbps Switch.

Hope this explain it better.

The link that you have lower throughput does it happen to be the LOW CCQ one?
If YES, find a way to fix it and you're done.
