Atheros MiniPCI 630mW!!!

400mW at 54Mbps :)
630mW at 1Mbps :D

We have one of those cards, and tested it a few months back.
There is an "A" version which is even more interesting.
The "A" version does work in Mikrotik, with good clean high-speed throughput. The chipset is the same as CM9, just with a high power TX amplifier.

We did have stability/throughput problems with the "b/g" card, though the "A" was fine. Not sure why that is.

However, I did not have the test equipment to verify the actual "high power" figures on either. I think the 630mW claim is actually exaggerated - rather unlikely it is anything like that. And the throughput was bad on the b/g, which we didn't get to the bottom of, but I suspect non-linearity in the power amp causing the problems with the high-order OFDM modulation rates.
