Can not acess remote router

Tue May 14, 2013 7:38 am

Remote Router : Cisco WRT54G2
Security : WEP (Ten Hexadecimal Digits)
Remote Router's IP : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server On : Assigning ip from 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.199

Client Side

Windows XP > IP Adress : 192.168.1.2 > Subnet 255.255.255.0 > Gateway > 192.168.1.1

Mikrotik RB411 + Sparklan Wireless Card + 24 dbi grid antenna

Accessing via WINBOX through MAC Adress

turned on the wireless interface
Created a bridge ether1 and wlan1
Created security profile > Static Keys required > 40 bit > WEP key of remote router
Scanned and got its network > Connect > Connected to ess
Turned on DHCP Client > Searching ... > Got dynamic ip

But i cant acess the remote wi-fi router.. (ping timeout to 192.168.1.1)

I m confused about the ip adresses to be assigned to ether1 and wlan1 in section IP > Adresses
Also please guide me about IP > Route setup

Thank You

The status shows that it was connected to ess and also showed that it wasa transmitting packets but it wasnt recieving packets .. any ideas ?

On what interface did you exactly configure DHCP-Client and from where are you trying to ping the remote router?
What is your goal of connecting the MT to the Cisco?

I have put DHCP Client over Wlan interface and i am getting a dynamic ip as assigned by remote router

Although remote router , pc and mikrotik are in same subnet and same ip pool , i am not able to ping to remote router .. neither can access its configuration page and also some devices with static ip attached to them ...

Please help

I didn't do a NAT rule masquerade

but I created a bridge and and bridged both eth1 and wlan1 together

In that case the MT does not even need an IP.
You should be able to get an dynamic address on your laptop
