Problems with matching port numbers with interface names

Wed May 29, 2013 1:15 pm

Hello, I have problem with physical interface matching. I have router with 5 physical ports (located on router). Problem is that router was disconnected from all cables. All our cables are marked (e.g. Internet, Office, Public, e.t.c.) with stickers, but interfaces on router was renamed, and now I can't tell person, who will physically plug cables back what was the order of cables.
By default interface names was 'ether1', 'ether2', etc, but ports was renamed to 'office', 'wan', etc.. is there a way to recover port names to numbers mapping?
