2011 power plug - thank you Mikrotik

Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:50 pm

We just got a new badge of 2011UAS-RM and Im happy to say they include the new power plug design.
Thank you Mikrotik, this is so much better!

Will the whole 2011 series switch to this power plug system, or just the RM models?

Great news!
It's funny that sometimes MikroTik needs some time to "invent" obviuos things. ;)
This change means that board design has changed also. I wonder what else is changed. What type of USB is in it?

Here are the photos.

No secondary connector inside. However, notice the mounting inside for a proper brick PSU.
Also, on the back, a hole for a power connector is pre-cut.

Front USB is a MicroUSB plug.

I was pleasantly surprised when the board beeped at boot time, yes :)

Overall, I really like this new revision!

And now all solid capacitors too! Is there any fan headers? Also, how to get this new version? Is old stock all flushed out?

Beeper! Yeah! :)
Anyone knows if the design of other boards has changed also? Does RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN have new power connector, too? And a beeper?! :)
Any hardware changelog?

It is a pity that it is not in the front.

But it is always better than before

Front would be BAD. This is a rack-mount, in the back is the proper placement.

Why would I want a power plug in the front in the rack...

I like the change too. Thanks!

I received a batch of 2011rm's about a month ago with the changed power plug.
