The problem with restoring configuration RB750 on RB750GL

Wed Jun 26, 2013 12:19 pm

The problem with restoring the configuration RB750 on RB750GL:
Backup configuration RB750 (RouterOS 5.25) and restore this configuration on RB750GL (RouterOS 5.25).
After restoring configuration ports are confused: the port number 1 becomes 4, 2 - 3, and so on.
Incorrect work rules firewall and scripts.

Backup 750 requires conversion to 750GL?

Don't use backup/restore! Use export/import.

Hi!

And what can I do if I have restored backup from one RouterBoard to another?
I made the mistake :(

Now RouterBoard which have restored backup working not so good...

There are possible capabilities to repair that RouterBoard?

Both Routerboards are 411U.

Thanks for Your replies!

Just clear the config with system reset-configuration and build config from scratch.
If the old router where the backup was taken from is still running, do an export from there and import on new router.

Backup/restore is basically useless. You can't read it, you can't restore it to another model, you can't even reliably restore it to another device of the same model.

Import/export is perfect: You can read it, make changes to it, you can restore it to ANY model.

Import / export is fine, thank you. No configuration is saved (restored) is not fully, for example does not restore the secrets of the PPP. What to do?
