snmp in dynamic routing envieroment

Mon Nov 07, 2005 6:07 pm

Hi..
I noticed one problem with router that incoming and outgoing interface is not the same (sometimes ospfd select different ways to get to one router) than ping is ok, but mikrotik service is down, and snmp data is not collected at all...so it would be great if you could tak a look at that

Same problem still in rc8. Any idea? Almost useless to monitor the trafic in this state. When ospf take an other route, all snmp info gone.
grrr.

create access lists with mangles that set the routes for your dude server and then create static routes using that routing mark. Then no matter what bgp, rip or ospf does to your routing tables, the route to your dude server will always follow the same path.

And what if ospf take an other route because the original link is broken. Than if the router try to reach dude server through the dead link dude will see that router offline.
